The Immortal Chess Game is one of the most famous chess games in the history of chess. The game was played in London on June 21, 1851, by Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky. During the game, White first lost one of his bishops, then both of his rooks. Finally, after Andersen sacrificed one of his bishops and two rooks, he gave a checkmate with a king sacrifice. It was a huge fireworks display, and the checkmate was no longer defendable. (source: Wikipedia)
